Meghan Markle made a swift exit after Serena Williams match leaving Kate and Pippa Middleton behind to watch more tennis
ROYAL fans were quick to spot Meghan Markle make a swift exit after watching pal Serena Williams lose at Wimbledon yesterday.
The Duchess of Sussex appeared to bid a hasty farewell to sisters Kate and Pippa Middleton, who stayed behind to watch more tennis after seeing Simona Halep triumph in the women's singles final.
The new mum, 37, was seen leaving Centre Court - most likely to return to her two-month-old son Archie at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor - at approximately 3.30pm after watching her tennis star friend defeated at 2.56pm.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, and Pippa, 35, remained in their seats to see the men's doubles final before leaving at 6.30pm - in contrast to last year when the two Duchesses departed together.
Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that Kate's younger sister moved over to where Meghan had been sat in the Royal Box, and Gill Brooks - wife of the Wimbledon chairman Phillip Brook - moved over next to her, having been sat with Prime Minister Theresa May.
Kate was also seen meeting Simona in the Wimbledon clubhouse to congratulate her, after the champion told presenter Sue Barker she had hoped to play in front of the Duchess.
Royal fans were quick to share on Twitter how they had noticed Meghan's absence.
One person wrote: "Where did Meghan go, didn't see her congratulate the Wimbledon winner, I only saw Kate! ."
Another commented: "Meghan made a swift exit after the final...no show when it came to congratulating Simona."
A third shared: "Apparently Meghan left & Kate and Pippa stayed for the doubles finals."
And a fourth added: "No, Meghan in the Royal Box for the Men’s doubles match. Not sure if she left or is enjoying the clubhouse."
Other fans praised Pippa and Kate for staying.
One person wrote: "I loved that they stayed for more tennis. We know they are both true tennis lovers."
The Duchess' meeting with Simona left another Twitter user delighted, as they shared a video of the moment with the caption: "OMG SIMONA AND CATHERINE."
Amid rumours of a royal feud between Kate and Meghan - and Prince William and Prince Harry - their appearance together at Wimbledon yesterday is widely believed to be a show of unity.
It comes a year after the two Duchesses attended the Wimbledon women's final in their first joint engagement after the royal wedding.
On that occasion, the pair were seen leaving the clubhouse together.
Last week, Meghan was branded a "nightmare" by an official when she visited Wimbledon to watch Serena play and was blasted for "silly control freakery" when her security stopped onlookers taking pictures.
