Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘have fewer staff and less money’ than Kate Middleton and Prince William, royal author claims
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are more low-maintenance than Kate Middleton and Prince William, according to a royal author.
The claim comes amid controversy over taxpayers funding a £2.4 million revamp of their home Frogmore Cottage.
The aide points out that "the Sussexes don't have the same financial resources as the Cambridges, for starters".
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, have hired a housekeeper and two assistants - as well as the shared services of two palace orderlies - but their staff is "low-key" compared to other senior royals.
"Meghan is actually pretty down-to-earth," says a member of her team.
According to Katie, Meghan does the cooking. She's said to have prepped and frozen organic meals before her and Harry's son Archie was born back in May.
Her mother Doria doubled up as a baby nurse and - already a trained yogi - took a course in postnatal yoga to avoid Meghan having to splash on a personal trainer.
The couple also take Archie for "long pram walks" in Home Park.
A source adds: "For the most part they are self-sufficient. Meghan doesn't have a stylist. She does most of it herself."
Royal accounts show work on the pair's home has so far cost the public far more than original estimates, sparking anger from campaigners.
The five-bedroom property - a gift from the Queen - is said to have required a "substantial overhaul" before they were able to move in, including new heating, wiring and utilities.
However, officials said they did pay for their own "fixtures and fittings".
In more royal news, William and Harry are to compete in charity polo match on their first engagement together this YEAR.
Meghan and Princess Diana's similar personalities "would've clashed and ended in conflict", claims Lady Colin Campbell.
And Meghan has adopted Britishisms saying "bits and bobs" and now shops at Ocado, a royal author has claimed.
