Wedding guest slammed for wearing a leopard print ‘lingerie’ slip dress to pal’s big day

But most of all, you really just don't want to draw any attention away from the bride on her special day. Right?

However, one wedding guest is running the risk of upstaging her pal by wearing a leopard print slip dress which has been likened to "lingerie" online.

Posting a photo of the trendy satin slip on a forum, the woman wrote: "I'm attending a wedding in August that I'd like to wear this dress for.

"The couple have requested cocktail attire. What do y'all think?"

The figure-skimming, strappy dress was designed by Australian fashion house Carol Skoufis and features a cowl neckline.

And while the trendy design certainly wouldn't look out of place on our Instagram feeds, others users of the American forum have taken issue with the revealing design.

One wrote: "It doesn't look like cocktail attire to me. It looks like a nightgown. I'd keep looking."

Another replied: "Depending on the fabric, it might constitute cocktail. But I wouldn't wear it to a wedding.

"Just doesn't look appropriate for any wedding I've been to. Unless the wedding is at a zoo..."

While a third user acknowledged the trendy design, they replied: "Anytime I see that much leopard print in one print nor on an actual leopard and a silky dress format, I assume it was intended as lingerie"

Similarly, another mused: "It's not white but it kind of looks like lingerie to me. It's up to you at this point."

Meanwhile, one user pointed out: "It's not a typical wedding guest dress but that's what makes it fun"

"It's fun to mix things up and wear something out of the ordinary. There's nothing vulgar or obscene about the dress so if you like it, go for it!"

For more wedding fashion stories, this "inappropriate" wedding guest was accused of trying to upstage the bride by wearing a bodycon dress with exposed sides.

And a wedding guest who wore a WHITE mini dress has been blasted for "trying to get attention".

Plus this "attention-seeking" wedding guest has been slammed for wearing a white lace gown to her friend's bid day.
