Meghan Markle was ‘always meant for big things’ and it’s ‘amazing she’s found the platform to do it’, Priyanka Chopra says
PRIYANKA Chopra has spoken out about her best friend Meghan Markle, explaining the Duchess was "always meant for big things".
Appearing on the cover of this month's ELLE magazine, the actress spoke about the Duchess of Sussex, explaining destiny helped the royal "find her calling".
"Megs... she was always meant for big things," the 36-year-old told .
"To be a change and be an important voice in doing that. It’s amazing that she found that calling and has the platform to be able to do it.
"By the time this comes out, she will have a baby – it’s so amazing how lives change.
"I’m a big believer in taking charge of your life, but there’s got to be something bigger that puts us into the circumstances that we are put in. Destiny has a weird way of helping you to find your calling."
In the past, Priyanka has defended Meghan, 37, saying that the Duchess is "100 per cent a victim of racism".
Speaking to magazine, she said: "100%... it has to do with racism, it's an obvious reason. But the beauty of Meg is that she’s been herself through all of this.
"A lot of people got to know her after everything (once she started dated Prince Harry), but I knew her before and she’s the same chick.";
Priyanka also insisted that Meghan is a progressive, modern girl, who should be relatable to the British public - describing her as a self-made woman who looks like all of us.
Priyanka bonded with Meghan when they were both filming in Canada.
There were rumours the pair had fallen out when the actress missed Meghan's luxury New York baby shower, but Priyanka put these to bed when she visited baby Archie in Windsor recently.
She also denied the rumours earlier this year, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live!
During the show, a fan called in and asked the actress: "Priyanka, are the rumours true that you were upset that Meghan Markle skipped your wedding to Nick Jonas?"
The show's host Andy Cohen added: "They said you didn't go to her baby shower because you were p***** at her."
Looking less than unimpressed with the viewer's question, Priyanka simply stated: "Oh my God. No it's not true."
While Priyanka didn't disclose the real reason she didn't attend the shower, reports that she was "bogged down" with work in Los Angeles.
