SINCE Meghan Markle became a member of the royal family, many have compared the Duchess to Princess Diana.
But one royal correspondent has claimed that the 37-year-old is actually "very different" to Prince Harry's late mum.
It's easy to see why many royal fans believe there are similarities between Meghan and Di.
From impeccable style, to their warm personalities and a commitment to charitable causes and humanitarian work, there is much common ground between the two.
But speaking to this week, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims Meghan, 37 and Diana are different in many ways.
"She is being compared to Diana and I'm sorry that's not the case," said Jennie.
"She is a very different woman.
"Much more mature, much more knowing for her own role, and wishes and causes she wishes to espouse.
"She is much readier for her role than Diana ever was."
The 67-year-old also explained that she feels Meghan has to be "careful" not to mix too much of her celebrity lifestyle with her new role as Royalty.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the American actress spent a whopping £330k on New York based baby shower before welcoming little Archie.
"I am getting the feeling that the public don't like her terrifically spending huge quantities of money," she said.
"Being extravagant, massively extravagant - she can't afford to. She's a wealthy woman but it doesn't play very well, so I think she needs to just watch that."
"I think I'd suggest she tried not to be too celebrity, because that doesn't go down well with the public, and try to ignore the fact she's getting flack from various directions."
Despite Jennie's claims, it seems many royal fans believe there are similarities between Meghan and Diana.
In fact, it was reported that the Duchess was being nicknamed "Di 2" by royal staff.
A royal source told : "I’ve heard the duchess is referred to as Di 2, because of the similarities to Harry’s mother.
"It’s meant affectionately, and I think it’s quite true—they are rather alike."
And earlier this year, Meghan shared an adorable photo of baby Archie as she celebrated her first US Mother's Day.
The royal is believed to have paid tribute to Harry's mum in the image by holding Archie in front of Forget-Me-Not flowers - famously Princess Diana's favourite.
