Woman who was too embarrassed to go in a jacuzzi because of her size loses six stone in six months
A WOMAN has lost an incredible six stone in just six months after being so self-conscious on holiday that she refused to go in a jacuzzi.
Lucie Chaligne, from Nottingham has always struggled with her weight, but explains she feels "reborn" after dropping from a size 18-20 to an 8-10.
Speaking to , the 28-year-old explained: "I've always been overweight since I was probably eight years old, and I just thought you stay like that, and you can't do anything about it.
"But I wasn't happy, and I wasn't comfortable in my body, even in front of my friends.
"We were on holiday and we had a jacuzzi, and I just couldn't bring myself to go in."
The turnaround came after a fitness coach visited her office and Lucie decided to sign up to the weight loss plan.
"I really wanted to change, and when my office had a visit from a fitness coach, showing their new weight loss plans, I was interested," she explained.
But when she first stepped on the scales, she was shocked to realise she weighed 15st 7lb - almost 100kg.
Lucie then took on a diet plan by Paramount Fitness and a three-week detox programme.
And although she hated going to the gym for fears of people looking at her, the 28-year-old explained she quickly started losing weight and gaining muscle.
Following the detox, she signed up the programme's six-week body transformation plan and dropped over a stone.
Through exercising three times a week and eating a healthy eating plan provided by the programme, the 28-year-old overhauled her entire lifestyle and dropped down to 9st 7lb after a further six months.
Only 12 months ago Lucie would have skipped breakfast, indulged in ready meals and snacked on large chocolate bars, but she now has a better understanding of nutrition and portion sizes.
These days, breakfast is often avocado, eggs, spinach and fruit, while lunch and dinner consists of lean meat or fish alongside green vegetables, pasta and rice.
"You cannot starve yourself, you need to always have stuff to eat, snacks like fruit and nuts," she explained.
"I go to sleep early, I swim and run twice a week, and I've signed up to do my first Robin Hood half marathon in September.
"Before, all I wanted to do was sit on the sofa and watch TV but now I just want to move.
"When I dance at salsa now I feel confident and beautiful and instead of waiting at the side, I'm the one asking guys to dance."
