A HUSBAND who claims to only help out around the house to "get lucky" with his wife has been slammed online.

Influencer Bri Dietz, from San Diego, posted a photo of her husband Bobby on holding up a sign describing what they refer to as "choreplay".

The controversial sign says: "Helping out with housework so you can get lucky is called choreplay."

The mum-of-two - who is pregnant with her third child - is pictured kissing her husband on the cheek and claims there is "nothing hotter" than a man who helps out around the house.

Making reference to the 1992 book The Five Languages of Love, Bri insists that her husband shows his affection for her with these "acts of service".

Sharing the image with her 74,500 Instagram followers, Bri wrote: "Nothing hotter. Any other 'acts of service' love language-ers out there? Mine 100%."

The influencer has grown a strong online following for her relatable romantic letterboards and parenting content.

What's more, recent examples of the couple's humorous letterboards include "I'd walk across Legos for you" and "getting lucky used to mean something else... now it means both kids fell asleep at the same time".

But while some users found the notion of choreplay "hilarious", others argued that it reinforced outdated gender stereotypes.

One wrote: "Stop teaching women that if men do housework it's HELPING and they should get rewarded.

"They aren't children. It's 50% their responsibility. Is this from the 50s?"

Another added: "'Helping with the housework?' It's his house too. It's his responsibility too,

"It shouldn't be so rare he's 'helping' that when he does it's a turn on.

"And implying he's just helping to 'get lucky' is cringe as hell."

Meanwhile, a third wrote: "'Helping with housework' infantilizes men and implies that the home is the woman's job. Nothing sexy about that."

Jumping to Bri's defence, one follower replied: "I'm honestly shocked at the comments on this post.

"Bri's letterboards are her thing and they're so dang funny! They're not abusive, crude or sexist.

"Marriage is rarely EVER a completely even 50/50 split. Help with housework or my husband handling dinner is one of my favourite surprises!"

Another joked: "My husband knows that this is TRUTH!"

Agreeing with Bri's point, one user said: "omg YES.

"My husband said to me yesterday, 'is there anything else I can do?' after checking a bunch of things off of my list. Totally choreplay."
