SINCE marrying into the Royal Family in 2011, Kate Middleton has developed a savvy signature style that's all her own.
But while her outfits famously sell out in minutes as fans race to copy her style, a royal expert has now claimed that The Queen doesn't always approved of Kate's wardrobe choices.
Appearing on the royal documentary Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, royal journalist Ashley Pearson revealed that Kate Middleton is much more restricted in what she can wear in comparison to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle.
Commenting on Kate's unique position in the Royal Family (and how this plays into her fashion choices), Ashley said: "Kate Middleton has a whole other set of rules and restrictions because she's going to be Queen.
"She and Meghan are not on the same page. Kate Middleton has to wear her skirts a certain length."
In fact, the expert claims that The Queen closely monitors Kate's outfits during public appearances - and isn't afraid to give feedback on them.
Ashley added: "The Queen is regularly, allegedly, giving notes if she doesn't like a certain hem or a certain outfit on Kate, or certain colour tights."
Long before Kate married into the Royal Family in 2011, The Queen is also reported to have "disapproved" of her grandson's girlfriend's "frivolous displays of wealth".
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, The Queen found Kate's lavish London lifestyle "unpalatable" and believed that "swanning from one five-star holiday resort to another [was] not the prerequisite for a young woman possibly destined to be Queen."
As a result of these concerns, The Queen "quietly suggested that Kate affiliate herself with a charity" to make her a more suitable partner for Prince William.
And it appears the Duchess of Cambridge's charity work has paid off as yesterday The Queen officially made her a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order which is the highest equivalent rank of a Knight.
In more Royal Family news, Meghan Markle "bought Kate Middleton a dream journal to win her over" before the Fab Four's "feud".
Plus bookies now believe Meghan Markle will give birth in May after Prince Harry stepped out with Kate Middleton.
