IT may not be the most glamorous of household chores - but the rubber seal of your washing machine can become rife with mould if you forget to clean it thoroughly.

Thankfully, one mum has revealed her must-have product for tackling this tedious task - and now we can't wait to try it for ourselves.

Writing on the Facebook group , the woman said she "didn't realise how much mould rubber collects" if you forget to rinse it out.

Inspired by cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, the user wrote: "Hinched my washing machine last night... super happy with the result!"

Along with cleaning out the often over-looked drawer, the woman then used a £3.50 Dettol spray to tackle the build up of mould on the rubber seal - and admits she "didn't have to scrub a thing!"

After leaving the mildew remover for a thirty minutes to work its magic, the woman then put her washing machine on an empty spin at 60 degrees to get rid of the stubborn mould.

Already likened to the cult favourite Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster - which can be used on window sills, grubby kitchen floors and blinds - this Dettol product is formulated with bleach to remove even the most stubborn mould super swiftly.

In fact, the mum also used the £3.50 spray - which you can pick up in Asda - to salvage her mouldy shower curtains.

Unsurprisingly, other users were quickly delighted with the results and are desperate to try it out for themselves.
