Shoppers slam Fashion Nova as ‘abusive’ after a model poses with a bear in a shocking snap to advertise jeans

Despite the backlash the post has racked up more than 18,000 likes

SHOPPERS have slammed Fashion Nova for using an image of a model dancing with a bear cub to flog its clothes.

The shopping giant posted a photo to its Instagram page of , holding the paws of the baby bear stood on its hind legs.

The fashion brand captioned the image: “Babes & Life-Size Teddy Bears”.

They linked to two items of clothing, the ‘Call Me Baby Girl Bodysuit’, £15.48 ($19.99), and ‘Perfectly Classic Jeans’, £30.96 ($39.99).

The image of the bear is also on the website when people search for the two items.

Angry shoppers have hit out at the clothing company for using the live animal to sell its wares.

Both Fashion Nova and Gallienne’s Instagram, where she originally posted the image tagging the brand, have received negative comments.

Someone said: “Animal abuse, how lovely.”

Another commented: “That poor bear should be out in the wild.”

A third wrote: “Sad and uneducated idiot.”

This person added: “This seems dangerous.”

The company doesn’t appear to have an official policy regarding live animals, but its website says: “Fashion Nova Cares is the official program focused on charitable giving and advocacy.

“We support charities that empower women, men and communities across the globe, and will pledge $1 Million to various organizations this year.”
