Mum uses dental tablets to get her son’s trainers looking good as new
IT can be hard to keep children’s trainers clean, especially when they love playing around outside at school.
But one mum has revealed how she managed to spruce up her son’s dirty shoes using a rather unlikely cleaning product – denture tablets.
Taking to the Facebook group, the mum revealed how she used three Polident denture tablets in a 500ml spray bottle of warm water.
She wrote: “Spruced up the kids school shoes before start of term 2.
“Used gumption on the sides of the white soles and Polident spray for the material area with a scrubbing brush. They look brand new.”
The savvy mum uploaded before and after shots of the black trainers, and following her dental tablet treatment, they look sparkling new.
She explained on the post she typically puts dirty trainers in the washing machine, but had been searching for a quick solution as her child needed them to be clean and dry for the next day.
The Polident product is designed for cleaning up false teeth but left the mum delighted at how they worked on trainers.
And members of the group appeared equally impressed by the results with the mum's post, which received numerous likes.

It’s not the first time denture products have been used as a handy cleaning hack.
A mum previously discovered her kitchen floor in her rented flat is a different colour after mopping with £1.50 denture cleaner.
