LUNAR BABY

Fans think Meghan Markle’s baby could arrive this Easter weekend thanks to being ‘induced’ by the Pink Moon

Last night's full moon could have nudged Meghan Markle into labour

MEGHAN Markle could go into labour with the royal baby this Easter weekend thanks to the 'Pink Moon'.

The start of a new full moon - like the one that appeared last night- is believed by some to induce birth.

According to anecdotal evidence, the lunar cycle can induce labour.

It has been suggested that the full moon's gravitational pull can affect the amniotic fluid which surrounds the baby in the womb.

Levels of the hormone melatonin - which regulates sleep-wake cycles - can also be influenced.

It works with another hormone, oxytocin, to trigger labour.

Links have in the past been made between a full moon and busier maternity wards.

And many new mums report going into labour at this point of the lunar cycle.

Indeed, Kate Middleton, 37, gave birth to Prince George on July 22, 2013 - the day of a full moon.

However, doctors and scientists continue to debate about whether there is a connection.

Royal fans on Twitter have been hoping that the full moon has helped the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex's pregnancy along.

One person wrote earlier this week: "Tomorrow is the full moon and also exactly 11 months Harry and Meghan wed in Windsor I think it would be the best day for baby Sussex to present himself into the world."

Another commented: "There's a full moon on the 19th - what do you think of that? Can it really influence the birth of Baby Sussex? I always heard this from old people."
