Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have ‘hired a maternity nurse’ to help with royal baby who will then ‘hand over to manny’
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have "hired a maternity nurse" to help with the royal baby who will then "hand over to a nanny or manny".
With just days to go until the birth, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have already planned out exactly who will be assisting them with their newborn, according to an expert.
Speaking to , Sarajane Ambrose, founder of childcare agency - who has experience placing nannies with the royal family - claimed that the couple will have already employed a maternity nurse and will be in the process of interviewing for a nanny or the male version, a 'manny'.
"The Duchess of Sussex is up to date on all the different options, she knows what she’s doing, she’s done her research and she knows exactly what she is looking for," she said.
Of why Meghan, 37, is certain to have already got a maternity nurse on board, Ambrose explained: "They are specialists at looking after newborns and will teach the mother all about the care of her individual baby – they will then hand over to a nanny at a certain point, usually around the 3-month point.”
She added: "He or she has to be professional, discreet, do a very good job and be prepared to not speak to anybody about her experiences there, they will be on their toes the whole time and it can be isolating too."
Last month, we exclusively revealed that Meghan and Harry were looking to hire a manny to care for the royal baby.
Ambrose agrees, explaining that: "There was a trend for male nannies a few years ago."
A royal insider recently told Fabulous Digital: “Hiring a ‘manny ‘ is far more common in the US - a nation that Meghan is more in tune with - than in the UK.
"She’s keen to introduce the royal family to what she considers a more enlightened, modern American approach."
It is also thought that Meghan's mum Doria Ragland will be helping out with her first grandchild when they arrive.
She is set to play a "pivotal role" in raising the child, according to a royal expert.
The baby is expected any day now, after Meghan revealed her due date was in late April.
She and Harry have moved into their new home Frogmore Cottage just in time for the birth after a £3m renovation.
