WITH Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bundle of joy due any day now, it's safe to say that the country has descended into full-blown royal baby fever.
But following the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will keep the details of their baby's arrival private, fans are now speculating whether Meghan has already secretly given birth to her first child.
Last Thursday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed that they had "taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private" in a Buckingham Palace statement.
However, the couple signed off the statement by describing how they were "looking forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a family" which has caused the rumour mill to go into overdrive.
Speaking to Australian magazine , a royal source claimed: "There's all sorts of talk in royal circles that Meghan and Harry have already had the baby.
"No one would be surprised if they had - after all, they're such a private couple and have never done anything by the books."
However, The Queen's former aide Dickie Arbiter, 79, has now hit back at these rumours and insists fans need to "hold their horses" for an official announcement.
Appearing on the Australian show Today Extra, Dickie accused royal watchers of "trying to keep the rumour mill going" with gossip concerning the royal baby's arrival.
He said: "If you believe that, you'd believe anything. We'll know in due course when the baby is born.
"Harry and Meghan made it very clear the birth is going to be private."
Insisting that there isn't "any substance" to the rumours, he added: "There aren't going to be any advance notices and they will release any details once they've had time to bond with the baby.
"The birth will come as they said, in late April, early May, and we just need to hold our horses until then."
