Vagina sheet masks that claim to pamper your bits surge in popularity but experts warn they could cause infections

EXPERTS have warned using vagina 'masks' could cause allergic reactions and infections.
As the trend for pampering down there takes off, sheet masks which claim to soothe and calm your lady bits have soared in popularity.
The beauty fad has seen a host of products flood the market, promising to 'detox', 'brighten' and 'lift' the vagina, but experts have warned they could do more harm than good.
With some designed to soothe the skin post-shave, Shamir Patel, registered pharmacist and founder of , said they could have hidden dangers.
He told the : "Though these so-called 'vaginal sheet masks' may be effective for combating post-shaving irritation, you should be cautious about using any products around that sensitive area of your body."
And he warned all products which could cause an imbalance in pH levels should be avoided.

Dr Shamir added: "As a rule, you should avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina and cause irritation.
"Using a sheet mask may increase the risk of yeast infections as a result of the moisture that comes out of them.
"Because the vulva is so sensitive, it can be prone to irritation and even allergic reactions."
If you are going to use specialist products designed for the vagina, he recommended doing a patch test first.
