Meghan Markle and Prince Harry split from Kate Middleton and Prince William with their own Instagram account @SussexRoyal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex finally have their very own social media account
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have made another big move in the Kensington Palace split - by launching their very own Instagram account.
The parents-to-be announced their new social media handle @sussexroyal on Tuesday.
Sharing their very first post, Harry and Meg wrote: "Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues.
"We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal - Harry & Meghan."
The couple also posted a selection of images taken over the past couple of years - including those from royal walkabouts and tours.
Fans have been going wild since the page launched, making it the fastest ever to reach one million followers, with hundreds posting comments of support for the couple.
One wrote: "I love it! So glad you finally have your own!"
The couple previously posted their pictures under the Kensington Palace account - which is shared by Kate Middleton and Prince William.
It's the latest move in the brothers' joint household split - with Meghan and Harry set to move from London to Frogmore Cottage, at Windsor Castle, within a matter of days.
A royal source told The Sun: "The couple chose all the pictures themselves and were very excited to open their own Instagram channel.
"This is all about them communicating directly with their fans. They will occasionally post their own pictures and messages."
There are no plans for the Sussexes to open their own Twitter or Facebook accounts.
Meghan, who was a keen Instagram user before marrying Harry, is thought to be the driving force behind the decision.
With the Duke and Duchess set to welcome their first child in a matter of days, it looks like the new social media account could have some adorable photographs of Baby Sussex pretty soon.
Meghan is said to be due to give birth this month and while the sex of the baby has not been announced, royal bookmakers have experienced a flurry of bets lately that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a girl, who she plans to name Elizabeth.
Earlier this week, we told you how a royal author has warned Meghan Markle "can’t have it all" and must stop "living like an A-list Hollywood star" now she’s a Duchess.
We also revealed hardworking Meghan has already made plans to return from maternity leave after SIX MONTHS in October.
