POUT OF CONTROL

The crazy yo-yo lip filler trend where women plump up their lips, take them out and then fill them up again

Laura and Monae have returned to lip fillers after their first attempt for a plumper pout went wrong

CELEBS who used fillers are going back to their natural looks . . . but others have returned to injections after quitting.

Courteney Cox, 54, recently revealed she had her fillers removed, after admitting: “I don’t look like myself.”

Kylie Jenner has opted for a fuller pout again after having her fillers dissolved last July

And Kylie Minogue, 50, who confessed she had “tried it all”, is natural now.

TV’s Lauren Goodger, 32, had jaw fillers removed because she said they made her look like Jim Carrey in The Mask.

But Kylie Jenner, 21, got her pout filled in after having it dissolved last July.

Jenny Francis meets two women who have gone back to fillers after a first attempt went wrong.

, says: “A tweak for the cheeks or jawline can be performed every 12 months but for lips, approximately every eight to nine months.

“Dissolving too often can damage skin and muscle, leaving long-term volume loss.

“Refilling very often can increase the risk of complications such as bruising, swelling and lumps, so it’s better to avoid it as much as possible.”

So how can you make sure your practitioner is up to the job?

Dr Benji Dhillon adds: “Look at reviews online. Ask the nurse or doctor about their experience and ask to see ‘before and after’ pics of their patients. Be cautious about anyone who gets defensive about their experience.”

If you are thinking about having fillers, visit for a register of accredited practitioners and to find out about different types of treatments.

In December 2016, I had 0.5ml, then another 1ml a few weeks later.

It cost £150 to have the filler dissolved and £630 to have them properly filled. But this time it wasn’t lumpy or too big – it was perfect.

Since then I’ve had them topped up three times, at £200 per session.

It has cost me a lot to get the lips I wanted. I don’t like the fact I’m a yo-yo filler – but I did learn a valuable lesson.

'I thought I looked good but a pal said I looked like a blow-up doll' - Monae, 21

I LOVE Instagram and always saw girls I wanted to look like talking about how lip fillers changed their look.

They looked glamorous and the “before and after” pictures were amazing.

Monae Paris-Davis from Leicester had always felt her natural lips were too small

I’d always hated my lips, thinking they were too small.

I researched it but everywhere was expensive.

I asked around and a friend put me in touch with a pal of theirs who performed the procedure.

It took me a while to save up the £250 I needed but I got an appointment in November 2016.

The 21-year-old student was happy with the results after her first fillers but immediately wanted them bigger

I visited the lady at home where she worked her clinic from and had 1ml of filler injected.

It was all very quick. I won’t lie – it was incredibly painful. But I liked the results.

In fact, after the swelling went down, I immediately wanted them bigger.

I went back two weeks later to have a further 1ml of filler put in – and this time they were MUCH bigger. The swelling went down but my lips stayed big.

I thought I looked good but my friends and family thought I’d gone way too far. One said I looked like a blow-up doll.

That’s when I realised I’d got carried away way too early.

My lips almost touched my nose and when I talked with lipstick on, it smudged on to my face!

I tried to ignore it but I knew I needed to take them down.

Once the fillers were removed, Monae hated how her lips looked

In January last year, I made an appointment to see a doctor at SY Clinic in Leicester.

He explained that I would need to have them dissolved completely to sort the problem.

I signed up straight away and within an hour I was having a dissolving injection.

During the next two weeks, the filler slowly dissolved and my lips returned to their normal size.

I lived with my small lips for a month. They were a bit more wrinkled than before but just as small. I hated it.

I knew I’d need to go bigger again, although my family begged me not to.

I went back to the clinic that had dissolved them and booked in.

I was determined to get the perfect pout, so I had a 1ml injection across the top and bottom.
