The £40 Topshop jeans that have fashion fans in a frenzy – with searches for them up 3,700 per cent
A PAIR of skinnies was once our go-to when it came to denim - but there's now a new ultimate jean on the block which has captivated fashion fans.
Searches for 'Mom' jeans - the style introduced by Topshop back in 2013 - has recently seen a whopping 3,700 per cent spike online.
The research, by shopping platform LikeToKnowIt.com, appears to indicate that we're very much in the market for the relaxed, high-waisted denim look.
This style of jean was originally made famous by the Levi 504s design in the 1980s.
As well as being cool and flattering, they go with pretty much anything - be that crisp white shirt or patent black ankle boot.
Indeed, their resurgence is being put down to their miraculous ability to 'dress down' the more dressy pieces in your wardrobe, so you look effortlessly chic.
- Mom Jeans, £40, from Topshop -
While 'Mom' jeans are available widely on the high street, it is Topshop who are best known for selling the look.
And for good reason - at £40 a pop you can't go wrong.
They stock the style in a variety of denim washes - including black, bleach, grey, indigo, sand and white - and some versions come with the addition of artfully-placed 'rips'.
You can also purchase your perfect size by waist measurement, from 24 to 36 inches.
And the leg length runs from 28 to 36 inches - just look out for their 'Petite' and 'Tall' sections.
