Mum’s £4 cleaning trick will get your filthy washing machine drawer sparkling in MINUTES
IT may not be the most fun household chore but the drawer in your washing machine can be a breeding ground for bacteria if you don't take care of them properly.
But now one cleaning-mad mum has inspired us to give our washing machines an overhaul thanks to her four-ingredient cleaning hack - and it promises to have our mildew-ridden drawers sparkling in no time.
Like a woman after our own hearts, the mum described the chore as a "task and a half" as she'd put it off for so long.
Writing on the Facebook group the woman posted impressive before-and-after photos of her mouldy washing machine drawer having giving it a deep clean.
Describing her step-by-step process, the mum revealed how she'd rinsed the drawer with Fairy Platinum washing up liquid and used "an old toothbrush to get in the small gaps."
After she'd wiped some of the grime away, the woman added: "I used bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar to remove all odours and smells."
This magic solution of white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda has also been known to clean filthy oven doors thanks to its high acidic content.
And when she was done rinsing and scrubbing the mouldy drawer with her three basic ingredients, the woman then gave it a quick spritz with the 75p Astonish Mould and Mildew spray.
And as she's been so blown away by the impressive results, the woman has now vowed to give her washing machine some TLC at least "twice a month".
Unsurprisingly, the group's 45,000 members were equally impressed.
One replied: "Wow, great job! Mine looks like your before photo. On my list to do this week."
Another wrote: "I didn't even realise the inside, where the drawer goes, got like this!"
Along with trying this hack out for herself, a third mum replied: "If the drawer and machine door are kept closed when not in use this can happen.
"Best to let the machine air dry after each use."
