A new Channel 5 documentary follows two mega families in the UK
CHANNEL 5 has lifted the lid on Britain's biggest families in a brand new documentary series.
Me and My 10 Kids: Mega Families, takes a look at two of the UK's biggest broods, including one family who have just welcomed baby number 10.
Sonya O'Loughlin - who relies on benefits and lives in a four-bedroom council flat in Southampton - has just welcomed baby number 10, explaining that she's "never used" a condom.
There's Nicola, 19, Leah, 17, Shannon, 16, Keon, 14, Erin, 13, Kye, 10, seven-year-old Cana, five-year-old Lewis, one-year-old Lexi and the family's latest arrival - a baby boy.
"Some people say they're allergic to condoms. I can't say that because I've never used one," she explained.
It's unsurprising that mornings in the O'Loughlin household can be pretty hectic, with the mum explaining the children take turns to eat as they only have three bowls.
Added to that, the kids have to wash their faces and brush their teeth in the kitchen due to a blocked bathroom sink - making getting ready even more chaotic.
Sonya - who receives £460 in child tax credit each week - explained: "I have to buy everything in bulk.
"My money all goes on the children. It goes in their bellies and for anything else I can afford to pay for them. It never goes in my back pocket."
Explaining she cooks all the kids' meals from scratch, she added: "You don't give children a choice about what they eat, otherwise it'd be like I was running a restaurant.
"I make everything from scratch, it can sometimes cost a little more but then I know what's gone into it and I want them to eat well."
The new show also follows Jo and Tommy O'Rourke who already have 10 kids and are planning their next.
The family - who live in Barnet, north London - rely on a huge mini bus to transport their growing family from A to B.
"The mini bus is our lifeline, we've been on many holidays and trips in it," said Jo.
"After school, routine is key. They get in, go upstairs and take their school uniforms off and fold it neatly with the next days socks and underwear so it's ready to go for the morning."
During the episode, Jo tells Tommy she wants one more tot.
"You said this after the last one," said a shocked Tommy.
"You said it after number five, then you said you'd stop after we got to double figures."
