From Kylie Jenner to Cameron Diaz, the stars who are ditching the Botox and embracing a natural look
WE take a look at the stars who've decided to try out procedures from Botox to dermal fillers and how they've gradually learned to embrace their natural beauty instead.
And as our amazing 'Then', 'Now' and even 'In Between' pictures prove, nature's way certainly wins the day for our featured A-listers Courteney Cox, 54, Kylie Minogue, 50, Renée Zellweger, 49, Kylie Jenner, 21 and Cameron Diaz, 46.
Courteney Cox, 54
The Friends actress started on the Botox and dermal fillers in her early 40s because, in her own words, she “wasn’t pleased with myself and the way I looked”.
But after a decade of filling in the wrinkles, the actress spoke again last month about why she made the decision to quit them in 2017.
Confessing she went way too far, she says she put a stop to them when she realised she no longer looked like herself.
SHE SAYS: “I’ve had all my fillers dissolved. I’m as natural as can be. I think that I now look more like the person I was. Those aren’t wrinkles – they’re smile lines. I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realise that fillers are not my friend.”
Kylie Minogue, 50
After many years of speculation, in 2010 Kylie came clean and owned up to dabbling with Botox and cheek fillers.
Admitting she went over the top with the procedures, she now makes a conscious effort not to succumb to the pressure to stay forever young and says she will no longer go near them.
SHE SAYS: “I’m preferring to be a lot more natural these days. I’ve tried Botox, I’ve tried [it] all. I’m definitely not one of those people who says: ‘You shouldn’t do this.’”
Renée Zellweger, 49
When the actress turned up at a Hollywood event in 2014 looking utterly unrecognisable, it was reported that she’d had fillers in her cheeks and nasolabial folds (the lines between your nose and mouth), as well as Botox and blepharoplasty (eye bag removal and lid reduction).
However, she denied surgery, saying her new face was the result of leading a more “peaceful” and “creative” life.
Whatever the truth, her current look is much more like the Bridget Jones we’ll always love.
SHE SAYS: “Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I did not make a decision to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes.”
Kylie Jenner, 21
She may barely be out of her teens, but Kylie has been getting fillers since the age of 17 after suffering from insecurities about her “small lips”.
Read: normal lips. Admitting in 2015 to surgically plumping her pout, which has made her millions through her Kylie Cosmetics empire, she confirmed on Instagram (where else?) last July that she’s had her signature fillers removed and learned to love the natural look.
However, just a few months later, she was back having a “lip touch-up.” Sigh.
SHE SAYS: “When you first get them done, you’re like: ‘Oh, it could be a little bit bigger on that side.’ I’d go back and be like: ‘They went down,’ and think they could be bigger. But I went too far. It was very painful.”
Cameron Diaz, 46
Seven years ago, there were suspicions that Cam had been tinkering with her lovely face when she began to resemble a Madame Tussaud’s waxwork. Never ideal.
Two years later, while promoting The Body Book, she confessed to having had work done, but vowed to banish the Botox and admitted she’s happy with her laughter lines.
SHE SAYS: “I’ve tried [Botox] before. It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like: ‘No, don’t want to be like that.’ I’d rather see my face ageing than a face that doesn’t belong to me.”
