MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry may shun Eton College in favour of a more "diverse" American school for their impending arrival.

The Duke of Duchess of Sussex are due to move to Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle before becoming parents, meaning the posh school attended by Harry and his brother William will be a stone's throw away.

But their are rumours within royal circles that the couple may opt for a local international college, reports .

The one they're said to be eyeing up is ACS Egham, formerly known as the American Community School.

It's situated on a lavish, leafy 20-acre campus in Surrey opposite Windsor Great Park in Egham, meaning the five mile school run from Frogmore Cottage will still be relatively easy.

Its students come from 60 countries, with British children making up the second-largest intake after Americans.

And it's certainly a cheaper option - not that that would be a problem for the duke and duchess. While fees at Eton are around the £40,000 a year mark, ACS is a "bargain" at £25,000.

Misha Nonoo, a US fashion designer who is widely believed to have introduced Meghan to Harry, went to ACS Egham’s sister school which is based in Cobham, Surrey.

It certainly sounds right up their street. Its pupils, aged from four up to 18, are encouraged to be “catalysts for positive change” and “globally minded world citizens”.

ACS teaches a number of international baccalaureate programmes and also champions “sustainability” - which will appeal to environmentally-conscious Harry.

American-born Meghan, who went Immaculate Heart High School, a Catholic private school for girls in Los Angeles, is eager for her children to grow up aware of their US heritage.

Pupils at ACS aged 16-18 are even offered the opportunity to study for a US high school diploma.

We previously brought you snaps of Meghan surrounded by friends and classmates during her formative years in school and university.

Aged just 14, she showed a passion for social change in a speech at her middle school graduation ceremony discussing topics like compassion towards AIDS sufferers, helping inner city kids and a moral responsibility towards the environment.

Clearly proud of their alumni, pupils at Meghan’s old school held a Royal Wedding party to mark her big day last year.
