Thrifty mum cuts her dishwasher tablets in HALF before using them – and claims they clean just as well

A MUM has shared her money-saving trick of cutting dishwasher tablets in half before using them.
Posting to her Instagram page, , she revealed that she makes a box of tablets last twice as long by using just half at a time.
Sharing a photo of her tablets cut in half, she posted: “Because they still clean just as good.”
The mum, from Australia, has been praised for her thriftiness with people commenting they were going to try out her trick.
One person said: “Interesting. I had never thought about doing this before but it kind of makes sense especially if the halves do just as good a job.”
Another wrote: “Omg never thought of this, I have 2 of those stupid dish draws that do half a load each.
“Always complain that I pay double cause I use 2 tablets to do 1 tablets worth of a load.”
A third said: “Okay so I never thought to cut them in half.
“Definitely giving this a go!”
This person said: “Ooooooh thank you for the idea!
“Never even considered it to be an option but I'm for sure going to try it!”
While this mum already followed the rule, and revealed how much she saved: “We have always done this cut ours in half - half a tablet a day we get the pack of 40 for around $6 (£3.30) and it usually last us up to 2 months it’s fantastic savings and value.”

Other people have also been sharing snaps of themselves on social media slicing up their dishwasher tablets to save money.
Among the brands getting the chop were Finish tablets, featuring the powerball.
Waitrose sells a pack of 72 for £12, which means half a tablet costs just 9p.
