Just look at Matthew Hughes, who credits his staggering 16st weight loss to treating himself every night to a Kit Kat. But if you're looking for a daily snack to satisfy your taste buds, these are your best options.

Leading and author told The Sun that snacking is totally fine if it's part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

"Snacking is a really smart and effective way to make sure you’re not absolutely ravenous come dinnertime. Allowing yourself to get overly hungry will only encourage overeating.

"The snack choice you make is crucial as to whether it will keep you full and maintain any healthy eating regime."

While crisps are totally delicious, there are more nutritious snacks out there that you might want to consider instead.

Have a bag if you want, but don't always rely on them to satisfy your hunger.

"If you’re often on the go, I tend to encourage foods with fibre and protein to ensure you keep a steady blood sugar balance," Rhiannon explained.

"There are a variety of options, which can be eaten at home or taken with you in your bag.

"For example, roasting some chickpeas in a little olive oil, paprika, cumin and sea salt makes for a delicious high protein and high fibre snack.

"Additionally, making a batch of savoury muffins (I like to use red pepper!) containing wholemeal flour, milk, and eggs to take out on the go is another great option.

Failing that, she said that you "can't go wrong with some wholemeal bread and hummus!".
