Meghan Markle’s set to follow in the footsteps of Princess Diana and Kate Middleton as Vogue editor says he’d ‘love to see her on the cover’
Editor-in-chief Edward Enninful has revealed he’s keen to get the Duchess of Sussex on the front of the famous magazine
MEGHAN Markle is one of the most photographed women in Britain, and she might land her first Vogue cover soon too.
The fashion bible’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful has revealed he’s keen to get the Duchess of Sussex on the front of the famous magazine.
Edward, 46, was appointed editor in 2017 and hopes to get Kate, 37, and Meghan, 37, their own covers in the near future.
The fashion guru said to the : “I am so into the young royals. Meghan is an example of how far we’ve all come.”
Edward was asked which duchess has the better style, and was diplomatic in his response.
He said: “They are different, it’s all fun and games. I’d love them both to be on the cover of Vogue.”
The Duchess of Cambridge has already been on the cover of Vogue, and made her debut back in 2016.
She was pictured in a casual, dressed-down look in the Norfolk countryside, and smiled as she wore a vintage hat and country clobber by Brit label Burberry.
A royal aide said at the time: “The informal portrait reflects the Duchess’ personality. She wanted something relaxed and to do it outside.
“Vogue provided the clothes but it was very much with the Duchess’ style in mind.
“The shoot was in January and we were very lucky with the weather as it was surprisingly sunny.”
The pictures were to celebrate Vogue’s 100th anniversary and were hung in London’s National Portrait Gallery.
The shoot was organised by Vogue and the National Portrait Gallery – of which the Duchess has been patron from 2012.
Kate was following in Princess Diana’s footsteps, who was featured on the magazine’s cover four times; in 1981, 1991, 1994 and 1997.
Princess Eugenie and Beatrice had their first joint interview with Vogue last year, but didn’t feature on the cover.
They spoke about how it’s hard being working royals - especially in the modern day.
