Paul Brockmann started his collection after meeting wife Margot at a dance hall
A DEVOTED husband has revealed that he bought his wife 55,000 designer dresses - because he "never wanted to see her in the same one twice".
Paul Brockmann, 83, keeps the gowns in his and wife Margot's garage in East Mesa, Arizona, a specially-designed closet and three 50-foot-long containers.
In a video, Paul explains that he began his collection after meeting Margot at a dance hall in their native Germany.
Margot says: "I had a pretty nice dress on, according to him," before Paul adds: "We danced all night, and we fell in love that night."
He's gifted her with dresses throughout their 61-year marriage - most secondhand and vintage - in keeping with his love for 1950s fashion.
"That's the time when they had wide skirts and petticoats," he says.
