Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame is being remade into a live-action movie
Frozen's Josh Gad is rumoured to be playing the lead role
THERE have been a whole load of Disney live action remakes in recent years.
Now it looks as though 1996 classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be receiving the same treatment.
reports that playwright David Henry Hwang will write a new script for the film, which will be based on both the animated film and Victor Hugo's 1831 novel.
The publication also states that Frozen star Josh Gad "might" play Quasimodo, although no casting has been set.
Josh, 37 - who's already secured producing duties - posted a cryptic tweet yesterday.
Alongside a photo of himself in front of Paris' Notre Dame cathedral, he wrote: "Sing the bells, bells, bells. Bells, bells, bells, bells, bells..."
Original composer Alan Menken is teaming up with Stephen Schwartz to write the music, so we're hopeful that some of the original songs will be included.
The 1996 film was loosely based on Hugo's novel, although it was given the Disney treatment to remove some of the heavier elements.
Despite this, it's still thought to be one of Disney's darker stories.
It follows outcast Quasimodo, who's living in the rafters of Notre Dame when he falls in love with beautiful gypsy Esmeralda.
We can't wait to see who nabs the lead female role.
Meanwhile, Harry Potter's scar ISN'T a lightning bolt but the "hand motion used to cast the killing curse Avada Kedavra".
Lady Gaga's tears during the final scene of "A Star Is Born" were real because her best friend had died just hours before.
And this woman's Eeyore pyjamas left her pals in hysterics thanks to a rude design fail on the bum.
