Gorgeous mum who looks better at 41 than she did at 21 reveals her unusual anti-ageing tips… from ditching cardio to eating SIX meals-a-day

Aussie PE teacher Belinda Norton has revealed her tips for reversing the ageing process - and why she never uses a straw

A MUM who looks better at 41 than she did at 21 has revealed her tips to reversing the ageing process - and they're not what you might expect.

Aussie PE teacher Belinda Norton has quite an online fan base, with 51,000 followers on Instagram, and we're sure they were delighted when she shared 21 tips on her .

With tips include ditching cardio, getting a massage once-a-month and eating SIX meals-a-day, they're not as painful as you might imagine.

The mum-of-two, from Gold Coast, Queensland, advises her followers to munch on vitamin-packed blueberries and a handful of almonds daily, spinach five times a week, oily salmon twice weekly and vegetables in every meal.

And don't be tempted to drink from straws, which Belinda "warns create wrinkles around your lips just like the cigarette epidemic."

Belinda also recommends swapping cardio for weight training, saying: "Please try less running. I have found excessive running to be counter productive to our best body shape."

She still runs occasionally, but does so at speed and for around 3-7km, and generally prefers sprinting or walking - which she does every morning before breakfast to "revive" her.

And Belinda reckons chilling out is just as important as working up a sweat, recommending a monthly massage.

She said: "Massage should not be seen as a luxury item. It is a healthy necessity just like going to the dentist or any other health professional.

"It is a preventive actions to avoid injury. It creates better mobility and also flushes unwanted toxins creating a more youthful body and skin tone."

Sounds good to us.

Belinda also recommends keeping a positive mindset, doing a weekly yoga class for stress, listening to soothing music, soaking in a bath, reading books over technology and getting at least seven hours of shut eye.

And make time for your friends - with a 'girlfriends date' at least every two weeks.

She explains: "Girls need girls banter and this time is so important as a stress buster for all women."

Belinda's rules

  • EAT: Six small meals-a-day, packed with blueberries, spinach, almonds, salmon and veg
  • DON'T EAT: Any junk food or processed sugars
  • DRINK: Loads of water, never from a straw
  • TAN: Use fake tan and always wear sunscreen under your makeup
  • EXERCISE: Swap cardio for walks and weight training
  • CHILL OUT: Make time for your girlfriends, get a massage once-a-month, keep a postive mindset, do yoga weekly, listen to calming music, soak in the bath, read books
  • SLEEP: At least 7 hours-a-night
  • SKINCARE: Never sleep with makeup on, use Rosehip oil around your eyes and decollete, exfoliate every 3 days with lactic acid, moisturise morning and night, get a Microdermabrasion treatment every 3 months.

Belinda eats six meals every day, which should be the size of your two fists, and also takes hair and skin supplements.

But she never eats junk food or sugar, recommending an apple over sweet treats.

She added: "Think about the food you intake as it actually is - How is it made? Where did it come from?"

And don't be tempted to count your calories or on-trend macros, as Belinda slams this as a "ridiculous way to live".

When it comes to skincare, Belinda says it's important to wash your face every night, never sleep in makeup, moisturise morning and night, and exfoliate with lactic acid every three days.

She also gets an £89 microdermabrasion treatment every three months and puts Rosehip oil around her eyes and decollete.

She starts and ends each day by gulping down a large glass of water, something she also does before every meal.

We all know sun damage can be ageing, so switch to fake tan and wear sun cream under your makeup daily, as well as sunglasses and a hat during the summer months.

We previously spoke to a glam mum-of-two who claims she still gets ID’d at 46, dates guys 20 years her junior – and says younger mates and Botox are the key to looking young.
