Ruby Tuesday Matthews is now a mum-of-two, but says her lifestyle became so extreme she feared she couldn't get pregnant
MODEL Ruby Tuesday Matthews was so thin she didn't think she could fall pregnant, with her tiny figure due to a diet of drugs and coffee.
Now a mum-of-two, she revealed her party lifestyle saw her weigh just 8st5lbs, as she managed to hide her cocaine addiction while working as a model.
The 25-year-old answered candidly on her page when fans questioned how she maintained her figure before falling pregnant.
Ruby told her 200k followers: “I was tiny before having kids.”
“The reason I was so small before having kids is two reasons, number one I did a lot of cocaine. Like a lot.
“So basically I just smoked cigarettes had long blacks and did coke.
“And then, in-between had tapas. My life was tapas and cocaine.”
She added it was easy to hide her addiction, and people often questioned how she could eat so much and not put on weight.
Ruby, from Byron Bay, added: “A lot of people never really understood how I could eat and still be so thin.
“But I guess it’s pretty easy to hide an addiction.
“Like people don’t really realise how easy it is to hide something whether it’s an addiction, depression, anxiety.
“It’s pretty easy to hide those little things.
“That was probably the main reason for my weight loss and why I was so, so thin."
And she added she thought a lot of people in the industry had similar habits.
She said: “I have to be careful what I’m saying here but the influencer, now it’s influencer but before it was modelling.
“So modelling industry and now influencer industry, everyone loves the baggie."
Now a healthy 10st2, she revealed she stopped doing cocaine just days before she discovered she was pregnant with her son, Rocket.
But Ruby, thought to be 5ft5ins, admitted she didn’t think she could fall pregnant due to her lifestyle.
Describing when she gave up, she said she was out at a party with a friend – who she refused to name - doing cocaine.
Ruby said: “We were partying and I was feeling really sick so I said I gotta go home.
“Anyway I had the worst hangover the next day, and I didn’t ever really get hangovers.
“But this was killing me. Anyway I didn’t think I was pregnant, I was really thin and partying a lot, no one thought I would be able to fall pregnant.
“I didn’t think I’d be able to fall pregnant.
“Three days later I did another pregnant test and I was pregnino.
“The first thing I was really worried about was holy s*** I had a big night I partied and I’m pregnant, is my baby going to be ok?
“But the doctor reassured me and my obstetrician reassured me.”
Ruby also opened up suffering a miscarriage aged 16, and her battles with mental health.
She says at the time her boyfriend and mother didn’t agree with the pregnancy, and after she lost the baby her parents sent her to Cambodia.
Ruby added: “I have battled with mental health demons on and off for most of my life.”
She added it was a subject she was going to be sharing more about with her followers this year.
