LET'S face it - throwing together an outfit for New Years Eve is always a bit of a mad rush in the sleepy days after Christmas.
But while most of us dash down to our nearest Primark to pick up something adequately sparkly for that all-important midnight countdown, one woman diced with fashion death when she ordered her outfit online the day before New Years.
Brittany Colley, 19, bought a suitably sequined high-neck midi dress from Pretty Little Thing to wear for her night out with friends on December 30.
And although her parcel miraculously still arrived in time, the contents of her order turned out to be something totally different.
Instead of the sophisticated sequin number she ordered, Brittany ended up with an ill-fitting, boxy grey T-shirt dress.
Finding herself plunged into a fashion crisis, the tearful teen has now accused the brand of "ruining" the biggest night out of the year.
Brittany confessed: "I was crying my eyes out because I didn't have anything to wear and yeah it was nothing alike and so disgusting.
"I couldn't even wear what they had sent me."
Insisting that the mishap had "ruined" her plans because she "wasn't going to go out", Brittany and her friends quickly cobbled something together from her wardrobe.
She added: "I didn't want it to totally ruin it so in the end I found something I already had to wear."
However, as Brittany was only planned on wearing the dress once anyway, the teen decided not to bother emailing the brand and intends to get a refund for the item.
She added: "I wouldn't wear that dress for another time so I'll just sent the dress back and get my money back."
A Pretty Little Thing spokesperson said: "Our customer service team have been in touch to advise on our returns policy."
In more fashion news, this unimpressed shopper has slammed Boohoo for size 10 dress that barely covers her bum - claiming she'd "get arrested for indecent exposure" if she wore it in public.
And shoppers have demanded Fashion Nova remove photo of swimsuit model with "her vagina hanging out".
Plus this mum has a "confidence crisis" after her teenage daughter says her wedding dress "looks like something from the 80s".
