LUXE TUX

Victoria Beckham steals Meghan Markle’s style in a £1,300 black tuxedo dress

SHE may be a successful fashion designer, but Victoria Beckham turned to a stylish royal for inspiration for her latest outfit.

The Spice Girl slipped on a black tuxedo dress for her New Year's Eve party earlier this week - and the £1,300 frock was almost identical to one previously worn by the Duchess of Sussex.

Sharing a mirror selfie on Instagram from the £30,000 party she threw with husband David to see in 2019, the former pop star, 44, showed off a chic black "tux" dress.

She encouraged her 23.8 million followers to "swipe up to shop" the 'Tuxedo Dress' on her website which is priced at £1,300.

The frock - which is described as a "gently tailored mini dress based on a men’s tuxedo jacket with a shift shape" - is remarkably similar to a design worn by Meghan, 37, back in August.

For an engagement to see a performance of musical Hamilton in London with Prince Harry, the Duchess wowed in a £320 Judith and Charles number.

Meghan, who has since announced she is pregnant with the couple's first child, came under fire at the time for the short length of the dress.

Posh seems to have paid no attention and wore her own tuxedo-style dress ultra-short, along with a pair of black tights and heels as well as her trademark up-do.

But while Victoria took a leaf out of the royal's book on Monday night, the Duchess paid tribute to the British designer over the festive period too.

On Christmas Day for the annual service with the royal family at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, she wore one her navy midi-dresses.

Meghan also teamed it with a £2,250 coat, a £1,550 bag and £1,350 boots - all by the famous designer.

She also previously wore one of Victoria's cream knit jumpers on two separate occasions - one for her and Harry's official engagement photos.
