Wedding guest slams bridezilla who demanded envelopes full of cash and food for her bridal shower
A WOMAN has shamed a bridezilla who demanded her bridal shower guests bring the food and envelopes of cash.
She told a Facebook group that the wedding would include a "potluck dinner" and shared an invite requesting salads and desserts.
The handwritten note described the do as an "envelope shower" on November 4th last year.
The woman wrote: "To me, that's just tacky, and then to tell me and my mom what to bring as our dish? No thank you."
She also said the mother-of-the-bride had arranged a flower making party to help construct the floral displays at the party.
The event would give guests the "opportunity to 'go over and make their flower decorations for the venue".
Explaining that she didn't go to the flower event, the woman said she was "doing literally anything else better than making flowers".
More than 500 people piled into the debate about whether the bride was in the wrong or had gone a step too far.
Many said how "horrifying" and "tacky" they found the requests for money and food.
One wrote: "They should at least feed you if you are asked to bring money to an envelope in a shower.
"I’m happy to bring a dish, especially if it’s a close friend but... I’m feeling a strong NO!"
Another added: "Don’t throw a party if you can’t afford to feed your guests AND if you can’t afford to feed your guests don’t ask them to bring food AND money."
While a third said: "So they want your money and they also don’t want to supply the party and expect the guests to do that too?
'I would laugh at this and the person who gave it to me."
