A ROYAL biographer has revealed that Meghan Markle's engagement interview was 'a world away' from both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge's.

Royal expert Andrew Morton, author of Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, compared the Duchess of Sussex's engagement interview to Kate and Diana's and found that she was much more confident in front of the camera.

This is understandable, as the actress has spent a lot of her life filming and talking to the camera - unlike the other two royals.

In Meghan and Harry's engagement interview, which was filmed in November 2017, Meghan seems completely at ease with the media and doesn't rely on Harry to lead the conversation, he said.

He said: "Meghan’s engagement interview was worlds away from the shy, blushing days of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, and his comment ‘whatever love means’, which skewered his romantic reputation forever.

"Different, too, from the more formal and conventional affair when Prince William and Kate Middleton faced the cameras."

"Then a visibly, and understandably, nervous Kate deferred to William in her responses. Not this time."

He added: "Meghan was warm, affectionate and supportive, more at ease with the media than her royal fiancé."

This is more than likely down to Meghan having had a lot of media training due to the nature of her past career.

In their interview, which took place at their home, Frogmore Cottage, they discuss everything from their busy schedules and how they were set up by a friend to how Harry proposed.

Meghan recalls the night of the proposal as a 'cosy night' where the pair were roasting chicken, and calls the proposal an 'amazing surprise'.

The whole time the couple sit closely together and hold hands, with Meghan contributing an equal amount to the interview, unlike Diana and Kate who both relied on their then-fiancés to lead the interview.

Meghan's past as an actress has definitely come in handy when dealing with the media, and her CV reveals a lot about her previous roles... one of which is a 'hot chick'.

Meghan's baby could be born on Brexit Day, according to latest odds.
