“And use of heavy, oil-based foundations can lead to blocked pores, otherwise known as 'acne cosmetica'.

“Spots on one cheek could be related to mobile phone use, where a dirty screen surface, combined with heat and occlusion, may stimulate the oil glands.”

While most of us know or can guess slathering our faces in foundation probably isn't good for our skin, turns out our mobiles could be affecting it too.

If you've got spots on only one cheek, and are often on the phone on that ear, it could be the culprit.

So if you’re worried excessive use of your phone could be contributing to bad skin, try using the other ear, cleaning your screen or investing in a hands-free device.

And Dr Anjali Mahto also revealed the one mistake you’re probably making if you have acne.

And these three women reveal how they cured crippling battle with adult acne that affects one in four women.
