Cara Delevingne texted Princess Eugenie ahead of the Royal wedding to ask permission to go against the dress code
CARA Delevingne asked for Princess Eugenie's approval to break the dress code at the Royal Wedding in October.
The model turned heads when she attended Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank's wedding in October in an Emporio Armani suit with tails, top hat and black court heels.
However, the 26 year old had asked permission from the royal bride before she stepped out in the informal look.
Speaking to Hello! magazine about her outfit choice, Cara said: "Eugenie has been a friend of mine since I was a kid and I've always wanted to wear tails.
"I texted her, as I wasn't sure about it."
But Eugenie was totally fine with Cara's outfit choice and knew the Suicide Squad actress would break the fashion rules.
Asked what Eugenie's reaction was, she replied: "She was like: 'Of course, I expected nothing else from you!'"
The dress code on Eugenie's wedding invitations stated men wore a morning coat, while women were asked to don a day dress with a hat.
Other celebrity guests followed the strict rules, such as Kate Moss and Demi Moore.
Cara was flooded with praise for her alternative look.
Speaking about the positive response to her wardrobe choice, she said: "I found it interesting how many people came up to me and said 'you're so brave to wear that!'
"I was like, 'Really? I feel way more comfortable like this.'"
The second royal wedding of 2018 had some very sweet moments you may have missed.
