I had ‘baby oil injected in my lips’ and it left them painful and looking like ‘bits of meat’ – and I’m sure the dodgy beautician gave me MRSA
Kerry Miles, 35, from Chelmsford, claims she now can’t drink out of a bottle without spilling its contents as her lips are so numb
A COSMETIC surgery addict was left horrified after she says dodgy filler injections, which she suspects contained baby oil, left her lips numb and looking like “bits of liver”.
Kerry Miles, 35, from Chelmsford, claims she now can’t drink out of a bottle without spilling its contents and believes she contracted MRSA from the clinic in Grays, Essex.
The mum-of-one says her lips doubled in size following the botched procedure in 2016, which took half an hour and cost around £250.
Less than an hour after the injections, Kerry claims her lips began to burn and blister and swelled to double their size.
“It felt like I had been slapped across the mouth,” Kerry told Fabulous Digital.
“They swelled up like bits of liver. The bruising was like I had just had a fight with a boxer and it lasted three weeks.”
Kerry told how she found the clinic online and believed it to be reputable – but when she got there she was surprised to find it was just a woman’s house.
She said: “She did the treatments in her conservatory or front room, or on a chair in the kitchen.
“There were cats, dogs, in and out. You couldn’t smell that it was clean or see any cleaning stuff. She didn’t even use sterile stuff to wipe my lips or face, it was just a normal face cloth.”
It’s taken Kerry two years and hundreds of pounds to get her lips back to normal.
She decided to have her lips drained and she says another clinician told her the filler present appeared to have been mixed with another substance – possibly baby oil.
Kerry explained: “When the woman had been preparing the filler, she took it out of the syringe and mixed it in a bowl with an oily clear liquid, then put it back in the syringe.
“The lady I go to now said fillers should never be taken out of the syringe as it’s already mixed ready to be injected.
“She also must have hit some sort of vein or nerve because I could feel something swelling in my lips and down near my chin. I am actually quite numb in my lip after what she’s done to me.
“I can’t drink out of a bottle without it spilling, as I can’t feel anything there and when it gets really cold the lip doesn’t move properly and I talk funny. I think it’s where she did stuff to the nerves.”
Kerry said she believes she contracted MRSA from the clinic – a type of bacteria that’s resistant to several widely used antibiotics.
She said: “Since having dealings with her I’ve had it twice.
“I know you can get it from hospitals but I hadn’t been in hospital, I hadn’t bled or had any injuries. I hadn’t been anywhere else dirty.
“I believe that I got quite ill after visiting her. I had it quite bad and needed eight antibiotics a day.”
Kerry, who has spent more than £150,000 on cosmetic surgery since 2009, said she did try to make a complaint.
She added: “When I phoned her she told me I wasn’t drinking enough water and I should massage my lips to make them to right shape.
“I was naive. I should never have trusted her with my face.”
Kerry said following her ordeal she is now very cautious when it comes to choosing practitioners and always does her research.
Kerry said she finds it “painful” looking back at photographs of herself before she had surgery and is now happy with how she looks.
“I’ve had rhinoplasty, I’ve had boob jobs, I’ve had vampire face lifts, I’ve had non-surgical face-lifts, teeth-bleaching – I’m due to get some new teeth,” she said.
“I’m due to have my nose done again. I get regular lip fillers and Botox. I was thinking about having rib removal but the weight loss is going well at the moment so that’s on hold.
“I was thinking about the Brazilian butt lift. I wouldn’t cry if suddenly I couldn’t have any more because I’ve done the major changes that I wanted to.
“Looking back at how I used to look, the pictures are painful because I was a lot bigger. I just didn’t like the shape of my face or my lack of boobs. I like the fake look.”
We previously told how Kerry spent £10,000 on a nose op that “made her look complete”.
