LIFE'S A BEACH

Meghan Markle wore the Queen’s least favourite fashion item to the beach in Australia

SINCE marrying Prince Harry earlier this year, Meghan Markle has been known to flout a few royal rules.

And the Duchess of Sussex, 37, broke the fashion code today when she visited Bondi Beach with her husband on her Australian royal tour.

Meghan stepped out looking glamorous in a long £1,080 Martin Grant maxi dress and a pair of £80 black wedge espadrilles by Castaner.

Wedges are said to be despised by the Queen so royal women typically avoid wearing them in her presence.

A source told : “The Queen isn't a fan of wedged shoes.

“She really doesn't like them and it's well known among the women in the family.”

Kate Middleton clearly takes this into account when she picks her own wardrobe options and has been seen in wedges in the past, but never around the Queen.

Despite being frowned upon, it seems that Meghan’s wedges are popular in royal circles, as Pippa Middleton has also been spotted in the exact same pair.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were visiting Bondi Beach, and met a local surfing community group known as OneWave, which are an awareness group for mental health and wellbeing.

Meghan paired the ensemble with a £320 teardrop necklace by Adina Reyter that is now out of stock.

Avoiding wedges is not the only fashion rule that Prince Harry’s wife now has to follow.

Only natural-looking polish is allowed at royal events.

The Queen has worn the light pink  for the past 28 years.

Clutches can be used as an excuse to not shake hands. So it’s time to ditch the cross-body bags, Meg.

Meghan is a fan of a hat and has been seen wearing a selection over the years including baseball caps, beanies and fedoras.

And despite rocking a few while out on official and unofficial appearances with Prince Harry, they must be off by 6pm.

This is the subtle trick that Meghan Markle used to win over Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Meanwhile, this is the bizarre reason why she and Prince Harry won’t have full custody of their own children.

And Meghan's wedding dress could be going on display at Windsor Castle…and we can’t wait.
