What type of birth did Meghan Markle have?

It was reported that Meghan was considering giving birth at home in Windsor, but this plan did not come into fruition.

Meghan went into labour late on Sunday night and gave birth at London's Portland Hospital at 5.26am on Monday.

Prince Harry was by her side at the time of the birth.

Meghan and Harry had been preparing for a home birth at Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Archie's birth certificate confirmed that he had been born at hospital after all.

Late on Sunday the Duchess was driven to the exclusive Portland private hospital in central London by Harry and their Scotland Yard security team.

Meghan remained in the £15,000-a-night hospital overnight before going into labour in the early hours of Monday morning.

The Duchess, 37, would have been following the Queen's example if she opted for a home birth, as the monarch had all her four kids at either Buckingham Palace or Clarence House.
