This is why Meghan Markle wore shoes that were too big for her to Royal wedding
Did you notice?
EARLIER this year, we noticed that Meghan Markle often wears shoes that appear to be far too big for her.
This morning, arriving at Princess Eugenie's wedding, royal fans were quick to notice that Meghan chose to wear a pair of navy Manolo Blahniks - but again, they looked a little on the large side.
While it seems there's at least a half-centimetre gap between the back of the shoe and Meghan's heel, according to fashion expert Harriet Davey, there could be a pretty simple explanation - and it actually makes total sense.
"Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they're at an event or on the red carpet and it's for one reason we can all relate to - to avoid blisters," says Harriet.
"There's nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes (we've all been there on a night out) and when celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time their feet can often swell up.
"The swelling can cause blisters and in the long run bunions - like long-time heel fan Victoria Beckham has been rumoured to suffer with."
"A trick of the trade is to stuff the toe with padding like tissue or cotton wool, and this can be taken out once they feel like they need a bit more room in their shoes," Harriet continued.
Meghan tends to regularly opt for a size up, having worn a pair of beige suede stilettos - that appeared to be far too big - for her and Harry's official engagement photocall.
She also opted for a pair of orange Jimmy Choo heels worth £595 on a trip to Belfast earlier this year, which also appeared to be a little on the large side.
Meghan wore a bespoke navy Givenchy gown with a hat by Noel Stewart for today's Royal wedding.
She teamed her elegant look with a pair of Prada gloves and her Birks Bee Chic White Quartz earrings.
The 37-year-old joined Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family for Princess Eugenie's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
