This will mark the first time Megahan will carry out an official engagement without another member of the royal family accompanying her.

Her previous appearances have been with husband Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and the Queen.

The art exhibition reception comes after Meghan unveiled her first solo charity project on Monday since joining the royal family.

The Duchess of Sussex has been helping with a new book produced by cooks from the Hubb Community Kitchen, an initiative based near the site of the Grenfell tower in London.

She first visited the kitchen in January and has made a number other private trips to the centre to meet volunteers and learn more about their work.

Next Tuesday’s visit will be the first public engagement since her wedding four months ago and shows the willingness of the duchess to get stuck into royal life.

Kate Middleton did her first solo engagement at a private fundraising dinner in October 2011, almost six months after her wedding to Prince William.

The Royal Academy of the Arts is currently celebrating its 250th anniversary and the Oceanic exhibition will celebrate artwork from locations such as Pacific region including New Guinea, Easter Island, Hawaii and New Zealand.

During Tuesday’s event, Meghan will meet the exhibition’s artists, curators and descendants linked to the pieces on display.

She will also watch a performance by Ngati Ranana, a Maori cultural group.

The exhibition will be open to the public from September 29.
