ONE of the 90s fashion trends making a comeback recently is the chunky, oversized trainer.
Once only seen on in PE class, pre-teens or dads, in autumn 2018 they’re back with a vengeance.
With help from superstars like the Kardashians the humble trainer is enjoying a huge renaissance.
You most likely had a pair growing up but if they're long gone you can invest in this season's must have shoe for a fraction of the price.
The Triple S sneaker from Balenciaga is arguably the ultimate trainer to own in this department.
Made with embroidered leather, the designer acknowledges their less-than-cool roots, saying “the chunky "dad" silhouette isn't going anywhere anytime soon”.
- Balenciaga Triple S, Net-A-Porter, £615 –
But with a £615 price tag, it can make you feel like a kid all over again having to save up your pocket money - sorry, wages - to afford a pair.
If you can’t quite stretch to that price tag, fear not as the high street has once again come to the rescue.
- Oki Kutsu Momo Trainers, Office, £74.99 –
Enter Office’s version, which at £74.99 is £540 cheaper than its pricier twin.
By Oki Kitsu, the designer says they’re “keeping up with the chunky trainer trend", highlighting they’ve got that “90's chunky rubber sole”.
