THERE’S a new royal stealing the show at Kensington Palace – Meghan Markle’s adorable beagle Guy.
The sweet adopted pooch has now “written” his own book about his exciting "rags-to-riches" tale - and it will be hitting the shops in November.
- His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle, £13.92 to pre-order from Amazon -
The book is called His Royal Dogness, The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle's Rescue Dog, and Guy is listed as one of the “authors” of the tale.
The story follows the beagle’s journey, from getting lost in the woods in Kentucky, to being rescued by the actress, and then setting off on his royal adventure to London.
The former Suits actress, 37, brought the brown and white pooch over with her from Toronto to London when she moved in with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace.
The illustrated book hasn’t been endorsed by the royal family, but is aiming to reveal how Guy went from “pawper to proper”.
The story was written by Emmy award-winning writer and producer Mike Brumm, and publishing legend Camille March, and the cute illustrations are the work of EG Keller.
The real Guy is living in the lap of luxury in the royal household.
He has his own Union Jack coat, eats only organic food and enjoys regular walks in the extensive grounds of Kensington Palace.
Meghan adopted Guy and Labrador-German Shepherd mix Bogart from a dog rescue centre in Los Angeles while she was with her first husband, film producer, Trevor Engelson.
Before moving to the UK, Meghan shared numerous pictures of Bogart and Guy, describing them as “my loves”.
Guy was flown here in November but Bogart was thought too old to make the long plane journey and he is now being looked after by Meghan's friends.
Guy also has a new dog pal to keep him company, as Meghan and Prince Harry have recently adopted a black Labrador called Oz.
The lucky pet, who joined the family this summer, is said to be settling into the palace nicely.
It is not known if Oz is a rescue dog but it seems likely, given Meghan’s past pets and the fact that Harry’s stepmum, the Duchess of Cornwall, is patron of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
His Royal Dogness will be revealed on November 20 and is available to pre-order from now.
