ZARA Tindall fought back tears as she spoke about her husband Mike's miscarriage heartbreak today - saying men feel "helpless" when they lose a child.
The former Olympian recently revealed she suffered a second miscarriage before the birth of daughter Lena with rugby ace Mike in June.
Zara bravely carried out the interview on the same day her new daughter, Lena, was seen in public for the first time.
She joined the rest of her family, including big sister, Mia, to watch her mum compete in some horse trials.
The 37-year-old, whose oldest daughter Mia was born in 2014, had her first miscarriage in 2016.
In her first televised interview about the couple's devastating loss, the former Olympian described it as a "horrible road".
Speaking on BBC Breakfast today, the Queen's granddaughter said: "It's very different for us because we're carrying the child, but for guys I guess it's kind of that helpless feeling, which must be incredibly high and horrible for them.
"At the end of the day they've still lost a child too."
Zara, who won BBC's Sports Personality of the Year in 2006, added: "Being helpless is horrible isn't it? For anyone.
"It's been a horrible road, but now we've come out the end of it, hopefully it makes you a stronger family."
In November 2016, Zara told the public a pregnancy announced the previous month had ended in miscarriage.
She and Mike then revealed they were expecting in November 2017, saying they were "very, very happy".
But speaking to the in July, Zara revealed she had suffered another miscarriage just before becoming pregnant with Lena, who was born in June.
She said of her first miscarriage: "For me, the worst bit was that we had to tell everyone - everyone knew.

"At the time, Pete was again very much the protective brother; he was very concerned about me, as was Mike. Everyone was.
"It was a time when my family came to the fore and I needed them.
"I had to go through having the baby because it was so far along. I then had another miscarriage really early on.
"You need to go through a period where you don't talk about it because it's too raw but, as with everything, time's a great healer."
Zara also revealed the royal couple had received many letters of support from the public.
She said: "I had some many letters saying 'I'm so sorry, we've been through the same thing', which was incredible - and thank you to all those people."
Lena also made her first public appearance today.
The youngster, along with big sister, Mia, joined the rest of her family at a horse trials.
The tot was tucked into a blue babygrow as proud Mia watched her mum compete at The Whately Manor International Horse Trials at Gatcombe Park, the come of her gran's Gloucestershire home.
