This is the real reason why Meghan Markle cannot speak to her father… and it’s heartbreaking
SHE'S set to visit family and friends in the States but while many believed Meghan Markle would be paying a visit to her father Thomas this month, sadly, that may not be the case.
According to sources, The Duchess of Sussex cannot risk talking to her 74-year-old dad, for fears he will leak their conversation.
Thomas Markle does have a track record of speaking to the press about his and Meghan's relationship.
Since he staged several paparazzi photos earlier this year, and was unable to attend his daughter's wedding to Prince Harry in May, the former lighting director has taken part in a string of damaging interviews.
Claiming his daughter has "cut him off", Thomas has made a slew of hurtful comments, including likening the royal family to Scientologists because of their "cult-like" behaviour and claiming Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, would have "loathed" the way he was being treated.
Now, according to the , royal insiders say that while the 37-year-old wants to speak to her father, she and Harry believe any private conversations could be leaked to the world.
It doesn't help that Thomas revealed details of a phone conversation he had with Prince Harry before the wedding.
All things considered, it's not surprising that Meghan is said to be reluctant about holding peace talks with her father.
The new royal is believed to be in Toronto, after reported that Meghan boarded an Air Canada flight this weekend.
The Duchess of Sussex is expected to also visit New York and Los Angeles to catch up with family and friends.
