All the ways Meghan Markle’s life will change when Prince William becomes king
MEGHAN Markle’s life has changed dramatically since she joined the royal family – and it could look even more different when Prince William is king.
A royal expert has revealed the new role Meghan will take on and the extra responsibilities she will undertake as sister-in-law to the monarch…
Have a more important role and extra responsibilities
Prince Harry’s wife will find her role become even more key when his brother ascends the throne.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold revealed how she is likely have even more expected of her than ever before, and she will support William's position.
Speaking to the , Grant revealed: “The Duchess of Sussex will have an important role to develop as one day she will be sister in law to the king.
“She will take on duties on behalf of the monarch as we see the Royals do today for the Queen. Both royal duchesses have important roles to fulfil.
“I imagine we will see more of the Duchess of Cambridge as she prepares for her future role as Queen.”
Thankfully Meghan seems to be taking to royal life like a duck to water, and said at the Royal Foundation Forum in February that she was ready to “hit the ground running” with charity work.
Travel more
Part of taking on extra responsibilities will be spending less time at home, and more time meeting with organisations and charities from around the world.
Her overseas work is actually going to start this autumn, when she heads Down Under for the Invictus Games, which are being held in Sydney from October 20-27.
Exact dates have not yet been released, but the newlyweds are likely to be away for at least a fortnight.
The royal couple will be visiting Australia and New Zealand, as well as Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga.
All eyes will be on Meghan for the demanding trip, as it will be her first tour of this magnitude as a Duchess.
Her travels are likely to increase when her role becomes more pivotal as a close family relation of the reigning monarch.
Attend more banquets
As monarch, Prince William will be expected to entertain numerous heads of states and host official dinners when important visitors come to the UK.
Meghan will most likely play a part in welcoming important guests, especially when William is unable to.

Her kids will be bumped up the line of succession
Prince Harry - who was third in line to the throne in 2013 - is now sixth in line.
Following his wedding to Meghan Markle, any children that they produce would come after him in the line of succession.
