What was Meghan Markle’s kiwi symbol on her wedding veil and what will she wear in New Zealand?
AHEAD of the Duke and Duchess' visit to New Zealand in October, the fashion world is waiting with baited breath for Meghan Markle's royal tour wardrobe.
From "husband shirts" to elegant dresses, we're expecting the full fashion works. Here's everything you need to know about Meghan's New Zealand outfits and the touching way she paid tribute to the country on her wedding day...
What was the kiwi symbol on Meghan Markle's wedding veil?
Along with her bespoke Givenchy gown, Meghan Markle's wedding veil was also designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller.
Incredibly ornate in design, the 15ft veil featured 53 different flowers to symbolise each of the Commonwealth countries.
New Zealand was represented by the nation's unofficial national flower, the kowhai which sat on the border of the silk tulle veil.
Eagle-eyed flower enthusiasts will have spotted the small native New Zealand bud when Meghan and Harry were standing at the St George's Chapel altar in Windsor.
England, Wales and Scotland were represented in the design by a rose, daffodil and thistle.
Meghan also paid a touching tribute to the Queen through this design as the monarch also wore a symbolic flower veil at her own wedding in 1947.
What will she wear in New Zealand?
Following the Royal Wedding in May, Meghan Markle has developed a signature Duchess style that's all her own.
The former Suits star loves a sophisticated yet modern boatneck dress and has kept us on our fashion toes by wearing trendy tuxedo jackets and bold colours.
Along with plenty of ultra feminine pink, of course.
Ahead of the couple's New Zealand trip in October, the mild temperatures mean we expect to see plenty of Meghan's signature midi dresses, with deep pockets obviously.
Plus, we may even get to see one or two more casual outfits throughout the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand where tree planting and school visits will be commonplace.
After all, Meghan sent fashion fans wild at the Invictus Games last year when she wore a pair of ripped blue jeans and a classic white "husband" shirt by designer and friend of the couple Misha Nonoo.
LATEST ON THE ROYAL TOUR
When is the trip to New Zealand?
A statement from Kensington Palace confirmed that "their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit the Realms of Australia and New Zealand by the countries' respective governments".
Following in Prince Charles and Princess Diana's footsteps, Harry and Meghan will visit New Zealand on their first major overseas tour together and coincide their visit with a trip to Sydney for the Invictus Games.
The Royal couple will head overseas in October for a five-week tour of the countries.
