Royal chef Darren McGrady revealed that Her Majesty has banned pasta, rice and potatoes from the royal menu.

The decision was one undertaken for personal reasons, as she prefers to stay away from carb-loaded foods like pasta.

Meanwhile rice and potatoes have never even featured on the Buckingham Palace menu, according to the expert.

This is no doubt sad for Meghan Markle who previously revealed to Delish.com that her go-to dish is pasta with slow-cooked courgette, and went as far as to describe it as "filthy, sexy mush."

She is also a fan of whipping up her own pasta recipes in the kitchen, and creates her courgette masterpiece by slow-cooking the veg for four hours, before turning it into a butter-laden dish.

Chef Darren also revealed that garlic is banned, along with some other unusual choices.

He said to : "We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions. The Queen would never have garlic on the menu.

“We also couldn’t serve meat that was rare, as [Queen Elizabeth] liked her meat more well done.”

And when it comes to snacks, the Queen is a huge fan of the humble banana – but she has to eat it bizarrely with a knife and fork.

Darren added: “She’ll cut off the bottoms and cut the banana lengthwise, and then cut the banana into tiny slices to eat with a fork.”

Historically, the Royal family are also forbidden from ordering SHELLFISH when they eat out, according to various sources.
