Did the Queen really ‘troll Trump’ with her brooches?
One was a gift from the Obamas, another was worn at her dad's funeral and a third came from Canada
DONALD Trump's Presidential visit led to protests involving thousands of Brits last week, but royal fans have speculated the Queen may have been doing a silent protest of her own.
Her Majesty always remains neutral in political matters, but one Twitter user thinks she made a secret swipe at the US President - and her theory's really got people talking.
According to Twitter user Julie, who goes by SamuraiKnitter, our monarch wore a "controversial" brooch on all three days of Trump's visit.
As we all know, the Queen loves a good brooch - and fans were quick to point out she always seems to think very carefully before choosing which one to wear.
Julie wrote: "The brooch is ALWAYS significant. Badges of military regiments - she inspects some troops, she wears the badge of them to do it.
"A head of state gives her a brooch? If they visit, she'll wear it or something else she'd been given by them as a gift."
It's an American-made piece crafted from 14-carat yellow gold, diamonds and moss agate - which dates back to 1950.
Of this brooch, Julie claims: "She chose the most SENTIMENTAL piece in the collection, the one that was given OUT OF FRIENDSHIP WITH THE OBAMAS AS PEOPLE."
On the Friday, Trump met with the Queen for tea - and Julie claims her choice of brooch was, once again, very significant.
She wrote: "For the day of the tea, QE wore an innocuous 'nice but not holy s***, considering what's in the vaults' diamond brooch she inherited from her mother.
"Jewel watchers nearly died, because it is the brooch worn in the famous 'Three Queens in Mourning' photo, worn by the Queen Mum.
"QE rolled up to tea with the tRUmps wearing the brooch her mother wore to her father's STATE FUNERAL."
Her third and final brooch was a gift from Canada, which could be seen as an odd choice for the US President's state visit.
Julie said: "From Canada. You know, who Trump's been screaming about and insulting. The commonwealth country and one of the UK's greatest allies. Them.
"Nice way to get in a dig again without having to say a word."
The Queen was given this sapphire brooch to mark her sapphire jubilee, during a 2017 event in London celebrating 150 years of the Canadian Confederation.
The thread has racked up more than 3,000 likes - but we still think the whole thing's a bit far fetched.
In more royal news, this is the secret reason why Meghan Markle keeps wearing ultra-feminine pink to royal events.
And Meghan can’t stop wearing this style of dress because it’s ‘sexy’ (but The Queen approves).
Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the matter.
