CHILDBIRTH is one of life's biggest and most documented moments - so it makes sense that some mothers like to wear a touch of make-up once they've welcomed their new arrival.
But one American mum took her hospital make-up to new extremes for the birth of her first child.
Lee Ann brought 20 make-up brushes with her to vlog her hospital beauty routineLee Ann Jarrell, 22, from Louisiana, says she wanted to look "picture perfect" throughout her labour and even spent a a whole hour on her extensive make-up routine.
Opting for a full face of foundation, blusher, highlighter, lipstick and the notoriously tricky smokey eye, Lee Ann said: "I just wanted to look glamorous in the pictures of me giving birth."
So while most women are chugging ice chips and writhing in pain, this beauty fanatic was expertly applying her foundation and chiselling her cheeks with contouring sticks.
Lee Ann even has a where she shares beauty tutorials with her 5,000 subscribers.
Starting her lengthy beauty regime at 4am, Lee Ann brought a make-up bag full to the brim with products along with 20 brushes too.
But seeing as the beauty enthusiast never leaves home without completing her lengthy make-up regime, this is hardly surprising.
Lee Ann also said that she feels "ugly" without her trusty products and even tries "not to sweat or sometimes even smile" to make her products "last longer".
But since welcoming her daughter in February, Lee Ann has taken a more relaxed approach to beauty.
She added: "I realised that being a mum was the only thing that mattered to me and once we got home from the hospital, I decided I didn't need to wear so much cover-up all the time time.
But reflecting on her extensive hospital beauty look, Lee Ann said: "Birth is a beautiful thing for a woman, the most natural thing in the world, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good yourself, wanting to add some sparkle."
