MEGHAN Markle has given up a lot of things after marrying into the royal wedding – and there’s one item in particular that she has to be careful about.

Wedges are said to be despised by the Queen so royal women avoid wearing them in her presence.

A source told : “The Queen isn't a fan of wedged shoes.

“She really doesn't like them and it's well known among the women in the family.”

Kate Middleton clearly takes this into account when she picks her own wardrobe options and has been seen in wedges but never around the Queen.

It’s not the only fashion rule that Prince Harry’s wife, 36, now has to follow.

Only natural-looking polish is allowed at royal events.

The Queen has worn the light pink for the past 28 years (£7.99, Superdrug).

Meghan is a fan of a hat and has been seen wearing a selection over the years including baseball caps, beanies and fedoras.

And despite rocking a few while out on official and unofficial appearances with Prince Harry, they must be off by 6pm.

A royal rule is strictly no headgear other than a tiara can be worn past that hour.

All royal women must wear weights in their dress hems to stop them flying up in the breeze.

It’s said no matter the weather, a royal female must wear a pair of nude tights.

That could explain why, on her first public appearance as a Duchess, Meghan opted for an odd pair of white tights.

The temperature may have hit the twenties, but the American’s legs were firmly under wraps.
